Connect Through Homework and Reading Program - Volunteer

The SFU Surrey–TD Community Engagement Centre is working with the Surrey School District (SD36) Welcome Centre to offer support and mentorship to English Language Learners in elementary and high school.

  • Date: Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays from October 2018-January 2019

Pathways to Education Volunteer

The SFU Surrey–TD Community Engagement Centre and Pathways to Education are looking for people who want to make a difference in the lives of local high school students.

Youth Integration Program: Newcomer Youth Mentor

The SFU Surrey–TD Community Engagement Centre collaborates with DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society to offer the Youth Integration Program. The Youth Integration Program is designed for newcomer youth between the ages of 13–18.

Early Learning Assistant

The Surrey School District (SD36), the SFU Surrey–TD Community Engagement Centre, and Blackwood Partners are collaborating to run a drop-in Early Learning for Families (ELF) programat the Central City Shopping Centre.

YMCA: Youth Leadership Development Advisor

The SFU Surrey–TD Community Engagement Centre and the YMCA are looking for volunteer mentors to assist in the delivery and facilitation of the Youth Leadership Development Program (YLD).

  • Date: Wednesdays from September 18, 2018-June 20, 2019 OR Thursdays from September 19, 2018-June 21, 2019

Mentoring With Math

The SFU Surrey–TD Community Engagement Centre and Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver (BBGV) are collaborating to offer the Mentoring with Math Program for children in Grades 3–7.

Racing Readers

Racing Readers is a collaboration between the SFU Surrey–TD Community Engagement Centre and the Surrey School District (SD36). This after-school program seeks to improve the physical, educational and social well-being of elementary-aged students in grades 2–5.

Media Minds - Workshop Coordinator

Media Minds is an after-school program developed by Enactus SFU for youth in grades 6–9 that promotes growth in self-esteem, positive social connections, skill-building and creativity through film education.
