Michelle La shares how taking advantage of professional development opportunities has helped her to grow within her community at SFU. She is one of the few scholars researching sneaker culture.

Shaun Fickling shares how he came to study concussion research at SFU. He is developing one of the only kinds of technology in the world for portable brain scanning techniques to assess concussions. Shaun originally came to SFU as an international exchange student and is now engaging in meaningful research as a PhD student.

Danielle Hoefele discusses why graduate school at SFU has resonated with her values, her goals, and her research into how fire ants communicate. Through her experience she has created her own path to meet her career goals.
