Join SFU Health & Counselling from January 28 - February 1 for a week-long series of events with free drop-in workshops, pop-up events, and a chance to continue the conversation about mental health.

January 28 (Mindful Monday)

10:00am to 12:00pm - Dog Therapy Cuddles with Ezzy and Self-Directed Origami

SFSS Women's Centre, All Genders Resources Area

3:30pm to 4:30pm - Laughter Yoga with Lehoa
Location:
VIP Room, 200 level in the Lorne Davies Complex, just beside the West Gym

January 29 (Social Tuesday)

11:00am to 3:00pm - Chat and Chill With Creative Collective
Chat over low-key activities like colouring, Lego, and crafts.
Location: James Douglas Safe Study Area (Burnaby), Mezzanine (Surrey)

January 30 (#BellLetsTalk Wednesday)

9:30am to 10:20am - Thrive at Yoga for the Mind
Gentle yoga open to all SFU students, faculty, and staff. Stretch, breathe, and relax with us.
Location: Fitness Studio, Burnaby Campus (Beside entrance to West Gym on the lower floor, room number 091)

10:30am to 2:30pm - Hi-FIVE chats: What does mental health mean to you?
Drop by to visit Hi-FIVE in the AQ and share your thoughts.
Location: AQ

11:00am to 3:00pm - Continue the Conversation (Burnaby & Surrey Campus)
Drop by from 11 to 3 and lets continue the conversation that we started on World Mental Health Day. Share what mental health means to you and take part in well-being activities!
Location: James Douglas Safe Study Area (Burnaby), Mezzanine (Surrey)

12:30pm to 1:20pm - Thrive with Mindfulness Meditation
Connect with your body, relax your mind, and discover tools for bringing more calm and ease into your life.
Location: Group Rooms 1 & 2 (enter through Career Services in MBC 0300)

12:30pm to 1:45pm - Thrive at Connected Globally, Adjusting Locally
Are you new to Canada? Join other students here at SFU and chat about your experience. For Thrive week, we talk about leadership style.
Location: Group Room 3 (enter through Career Services in MBC 0300).

2:00pm to 4:00pm - Learn to Knit with Creative Collective
Take a break and learn to knit at your own pace. Drop-in event, no experience necessary. All supplies provided.
Location: Women's Centre, All Genders Resources Area

3:30pm to 4:30pm - Thrive at Fitmix
Try a free beginners fitness class offered weekly with the Health Peers!

Location: Fitness Studio, Burnaby Campus (Beside entrance to West Gym on the lower floor, room number 091)

January 31 (Thankful Thursday)

11:00am to 3:00pm - Thank You Cards
We'll have thank you cards, DIY gratitude lists, and a giant canvas so you can share messages of gratitude around SFU.

5:00pm to 8:30pm - Community Cooking Workshop @ the Women's Centre
Please register in advance. Join Health Peers for a lesson on making easy and nutritious recipes for healthy eating. Have fun, make friends, and eat!

All ingredients are provided.

February 1 (Happiness Friday)

Free drop-in workshop for all SFU students.
Bring your favourite snacks! For Thrive Week we practice eating and drinking mindfully along with some de-stress activities.
Location: Group Rooms 1 & 2 (enter through Career Services in MBC 0300)
