SFU Student Engagement and Retention is recruiting for Peer Idea Activators, a dynamic student leadership opportunity to lead idea generation initiatives. This opportunity is open to all SFU students.

Design Jams – Idea storm with free food! FREE ongoing event

Join us for free food and a peer-to-peer idea activation opportunity to improve social and community life on campus. More Details and Free registration

At a design jam, we do ideastorming with lego, storyboards, and get your creative energy in motion!

We want to generate actionable ideas that will be implemented as part of the Student Experience Initiative (SEI) - Building community and a sense of belonging

  • Date: Tuesdays and Thursdays bi-weekly.
  • Location: SFU Burnaby: Student Central - MBC 3000
  • Upcoming jams: 4:00PM on February (26, 28), March (12, 14, 26, 28) and April (2, 4)
  • SFU Surrey: Mezzanine, during Surrey Games Lounge at the Peer Idea Activator booth.
  • Drop in on Wednesdays - Feb 6, Feb 13, Mar 6, Mar 20, Mar 27 and April 3

Enter the Drawing and Design Contest by March 8 for a chance to win an SFU bookstore gift card!

Drawing/Design challenge: Pick a space on any of the 3 campuses, draw or design online what you would do to recreate that space to make it more comfortable for student use.

Include a brief description of your idea.

No drawing or design expertise required.  Email your submission to seipia@sfu.ca by March 8 at 5:00PM for a chance to win an SFU Bookstore gift card!

Guidelines: Your submission must include a location on any of the campuses, a new design for that space, a brief description of what you’d do to the space and what kinds of things you think that space should be used for!

All submissions will be shared with members of the Student Experience Initiative focused on building community and a sense of belonging. Students will vote on their favourite submission!
