Economics PhD graduate in the Faculty of Arts + Social Sciences

I am from the Basque country in France, and my thesis focuses on Econometrics.

Why did you choose to come to SFU?

I was proposed funding for the PhD program, and wanted to go abroad!

Tell us about your research and/or program.

I am trying to improve the statistical tools used to answer Economic questions and help improve the accuracy of quantitative assessment of Economic policies.

What are you particularly enjoying about your studies/research at SFU?

Everybody is nice, I had the best environment to work in. I made myself precious friends, and was able to get paid to learn!

Have you been the recipient of any major or donor funded awards?

I received the following awards:

  • James Dean award
  • Peter Kennedy fellowship award

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

The program is the perfect environment to work and learn in. We have office space, we get to work with very smart people, and make great relationships. The location is absolutely amazing too!
