The Transit Referendum: Should there be one? What will it take to win? Feb 6

February 06, 2014
Print

Premier Christy Clark has backed away from her November municipal election deadline for a transit referendum. The big questions now are: Is this one of those complicated issues that we pay our elected officials to get right and pass? What would the funding sources be - gas tax, carbon tax, vehicle tax, or property tax? What transit expansion projects would be funded? How much time is needed to design a convincing project before a vote?

Panel includes:

Geoff Meggs - Vancouver Councillor
Gordon Price - SFU City Program Director

Join Carbon Talks for a lively dialogue on resiliency, adaptation and discover how we can beautify our communities even in the face of climate change challenges.
