Metro Vancouver Sustainability Community Breakfast, Nov. 19
Measuring Progress Toward Shaping our Future: Metro 2040
November 19, 2014 7:30 - 9:00 am
British Columbia Institute of Technology,
555 Seymour Street, Vancouver
The Metro Vancouver region is known as one of the most livable, sustainable regions in the world with a long history of planning for compact growth and integrated land and transportation development. Metro Vancouver is the agency responsible for long-range land use planning and growth management at a metropolitan level. Guided by the regional growth strategy – Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future, we strive to create complete, healthy and transit-oriented communities, contain and structure growth, and protect essential lands for local food production, ecological services like clean air and water, and to serve our growing economy. To reach our goals, we collaborate with Member Municipalities, TransLink, other agencies and residents.
Join us as Metro Vancouver launches the Progress toward Shaping our Future: the Baseline Annual Report to learn how progress is monitored toward Metro 2040 goals, and why we all have a critical role to play in ensuring our region’s ongoing livability and sustainability.
- Heather McNell, Planning and Policy Analysis Division Manager, Metro Vancouver
