Public Dialogue: Youthless City - Global to Local Housing Solutions
Youthless City: Global to Local Housing Solutions
Youth are leaving Vancouver - it’s time to take the housing crisis seriously. Join us in this free dialogue with free food!
As the unaffordability of living in Vancouver pushes youth and lower income folks out of Vancouver, it becomes important to ask: Will Vancouver become a city without youth?
Hosted by the SFU Semester in Dialogue: Housing Futures, this public dialogue will explore solutions to the housing crisis through a youth perspective. Undergraduate students have spent seven weeks exploring the complexities of the housing crisis and will share the opportunities for change that they have identified through their research and dialogue with various thought leaders.
Using the cities of Berlin, Montreal, Vienna, and Hong Kong as case studies, the cohort has identified various policy recommendations to engage the public in a solutions-focused housing conversation. Join us in a public dialogue to explore global to local housing solutions by evaluating housing solutions from around the world, exploring what home means to you, and engaging in an open dialogue with a panel of prominent figures in the Vancouver housing scene.
Through the final public dialogue, the cohort hopes to create a space for positive and thoughtful conversations about the potential for change and progress for the future of housing in Vancouver.
