Creating space for transformative conversations
Get involved with the Centre for Dialogue!
Learn new skills and find paid opportunities such as facilitators, note-takers and community ambassadors. In recent months, we have hired more than 20 students to work with our team at public dialogues, workshops and events.
Chinese Canadian Museum Project
We facilitated a series of community meetings around B.C. with the help of graduate and undergraduate students for the government's new Chinese Canadian Museum project. The Centre for Dialogue hired 12 students that assisted and lead dialogue facilitation in a one-day meeting in Richmond. The public engagement process was under the leadership of the Minister of State for Trade, the Honourable George Chow.
City of Burnaby Your Voice Your Home Housing Project
The Centre for Dialogue partnered with the City of Burnaby to lead the "Your Voice Your Home" housing consultation. As part of the Public Engagement Phase, we recruited a pool of 10 high-energy SFU students to act as community ambassadors. This group went to various community spaces (classrooms, seniors' facilities, community centres, libraries etc.) to build awareness of the process and collect community perspectives to help inform the generative phase of the project.
