Dear BC Earth Science Teachers,
This email provides information about the BC Earth Science Articulation Meeting at the University of Victoria on May 28, and the Fieldtrip to follow on May 29, 30 (see also the original information in the attached pdf).
UVIC ACCOMMODATION & PARKING: If you are staying in residence at UVic, park in Lot 5 (off Sinclair Rd in sector E3 of the attached pdf map) and go to the Craigdarroch Office Building to check in (sector D3). You can purchase a parking pass from machines in the lot which is good until 7:00 AM the following day (max $6.00, depending on time of purchase). If you require additional parking (e.g., if you are coming on the fieldtrip, or if you are staying overnight and don't want to buy another pass at the machine at 7:00 AM) we can arrange to have appropriate parking passes ready for you to pick up when you check in at the Housing Office. To do this you MUST LET ME KNOW by email by Wednesday morning what your parking requirements are. The costs are: Thursday and Friday--$6.00 each; Saturday--$2.00; Sunday--free (please pay us Thursday morning meeting at the Articulation Meeting).
MEETING ROOM: The Articulation Meeting will be held in Room A319 of the Wright Centre for Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (sector C4). After entering the building, take staircase 1 or the elevator to the third floor, turn right, and go to the end of the hallway.
FIELDTRIP: If you are planning to come on the Fieldtrip you should have already let me know. If you have not paid in advance, please pay ($110) at the Thursday Articulation Meeting. The list of confirmed attendees is given below. The fieldtrip will leave from the Wright Centre at 9:00 Friday. IMPORTANT: There is limited room on the vans for luggage--please bring only a small backpack or handbag for the overnight trip (larger luggage can be stored in the Wright Centre to be picked up after the fieldtrip).
