Mapping the Likelihood of Flowing Artesian Wells in the Lower Fraser Valley and the Okanagan Basin, BC, using Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis

This research focuses on the hydrogeologic phenomenon of flowing wells, which are groundwater wells that naturally discharge water without the aid of a pump. The project aims at improving the understanding of the factors that control the occurrence of flowing wells, and ultimately mapping the likelihood of flowing wells in two regions of BC: the Lower Fraser Valley and the Okanagan. This aim is largely achieved by assessing the hydrogeologic and geologic conditions through interpretive groundwater flow models.
