Jaspreet Singh

Postdoctoral Fellow
Earth Sciences

Areas of interest

Jaspreet is an Engineering geologist graduate with a Ph.D. from the Department of Earth Sciences, IIT Roorkee, in late 2022. His expertise is in using remote sensing, numerical modeling, geotechnical and geophysical methods for landslide investigation. His Ph.D. research was focused on understanding slope stability and rock mass characterization of Himalayan road cut slopes using numerical modeling and discrete fracture network. He also worked on consultancy projects at IIT Roorkee for designing and mitigating major landslides in Uttarakhand Himalaya, India.
After finishing Ph.D., Jaspreet joined as a Postdoctoral fellow in the Engineering geology and resource geotechnics group. He will work on 2D and 3D computationally-based modelling for complex rock slope stability assessment or landslide modelling. He will use combined remote sensing (LiDAR, Photogrammetry) and numerical modelling tools for geohazard assessment in BC, Canada.
