Life long education

My most memorable experience with the Faculty of Education was being a School Associate from 1992 to 1993, when I supervised three student teachers during their practicum placements. At that time, I was an elementary specialist teacher with the public Montessori program in Surrey School District.

Training student teachers was my way of giving back to the teaching community and a milestone in my teaching career to share my knowledge and expertise after gaining so much from several innovative courses undertaken at the Faculty of Education. What I learned back then continues to hold me in good stead, and I look back fondly and nostalgically on my student days at SFU.

I went on to pursue a Master of Education (1998) and a Master of Applied Linguistics (2003) at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia. Today I am an esteemed Level 3 Classroom Teacher with the Western Australian Department of Education in Perth and am currently pursuing postgraduate studies in Speech Pathology. I am a strong believer in life long education!
