Social Emotional Well-being and Wholistic Trauma-sensitive Practices (Delivered Online) - Fall 2021

OVERVIEW

This Graduate Diploma in Advanced Professional Studies has been developed for educators interested in deepening their understanding of the contemplative and embodied basis to effective social-emotional and trauma-sensitive pedagogical practices in the classroom.

  • Frameworks to support the holistic development of children, including Indigenous approaches to teaching and learning (First Peoples Principles of Learning)

  • Trauma-healing informed practices

This two-year, 30-unit program of study is for educators whose primary focus is school-based educational practice. It provides the opportunity to engage in focused, sustained reflective inquiry. Completion of the diploma allows educators to move from TQS category 4 to 5 or from category 5 to 5+.

  • Location: Delivered Online
  • Suited for: K-12 Educators
  • Format: Interactive, experiential online sessions with a combination of synchronous and asynchronous classes. Potential that the one-week, Summer Institutes in August 2022 and August 2023 are face-to-face.
