Educational Leadership in Complex and Urban Schools MEd – Fall 2018


Develop an understanding of scholarship, central issues, challenges and opportunities in research, theory and practice in the field of leadership in diverse educational contexts found in schools, universities, and non-profit organizations and industry.

Critically engage, reflect and transform the research, theory and practice of educational leadership within your own field of interest and and practice.

Apply and integrate leadership research and theory within your own professional practice.

Invited academic leaders from schools and districts will join classes as educational partners and guests, while exploring cases from the field to explore critical issues in leadership and development and the role of context in decision-making.

Ideally Suited For

K–12, university, non-profit, and industry educators and leaders.

  • Location: SFU's Surrey campus
  • Classes: Fri. (4:30–9:00) + Sat. (8:30–4:30)/every 2-3weeks
  • Start Term: Fall 2018
  • End Term: Summer 2020
  • Application Status: CLOSED
  • Tuition 2018/19*: $2,969.10/term
    *Subject to estimated 2% fee increase each September.
