Educational Leadership, Prince George MEd - Fall 2020


This MEd Educational Leadership in Prince George provides graduate students opportunities to bridge theory, research, policy and practice within a community of inquiry as a cohort. Students will also conduct research projects that directly connect to professional practice. 

In a cohort, students will:

  • Enrich their understanding and critical thinking skills as they learn about historical and contemporary issues of education (and educational systems) in British Columbia, Canada, and internationally
  • Explore various issues in education through leadership theory, organizational theory, policy processes, research, as applied to their practice. 
  • Develop and articulate an ethical interpretative framework from the scholarly works throughout their courses to guide their own thinking, discourse, and actions in scholarly and professional communities
  • Demonstrate ongoing self-reflection and critique to one's own ways of thinking and practicing that illustrates one's understanding and application of leadership in relationship to one's professional practice and program experiences. 

Ideally Suited For

Working professionals in educational contexts (e.g., post-secondary, K-12, public, private) or other sectors (e.g., justice, health non-profit organizations), industry educators, and other leaders who aim to gain knowledge through the exploration and application of research, theory, and scholarship to their personal and professional lives.

  • Location: College of New Caledonia, Prince George, BC
  • Classes: Fri. (5:00–8:00 PM) + Sat. (9:00 AM–4:00 PM)/every 2-3weeks
  • Start Term: Fall 2020 (September)
  • End Term: Summer 2022 (May)
  • Application Status: Closed
  • Tuition 2021/22*: $3,150.84/term
    *Subject to estimated 2% fee increase each September.
