Educational Leadership: Post-Secondary, Victoria MEd - Fall 2022

OVERVIEW

Collaboratively developed by Simon Fraser University (SFU) and Camosun College. This two-year MEd Educational Leadership program in Victoria provides graduate students opportunities to bridge theory, research, policy and practice within a community of inquiry as a cohort. Students will also conduct research projects that directly connect to professional practice.

In a cohort, students will:

  • Enrich their understanding and critical thinking skills as they learn about historical and contemporary issues of education (and educational systems) in British Columbia, Canada, and internationally
  • Explore various issues in education through leadership theory, organizational theory, policy processes, research, as applied to their practice.
  • Develop and articulate an ethical interpretative framework from the scholarly works throughout their courses to guide their own thinking, discourse, and actions in scholarly and professional communities
  • Demonstrate ongoing self-reflection and critique to one's own ways of thinking and practicing that illustrates one's understanding and application of leadership in relationship to one's professional practice and program experiences.
