Thesis Title: A Study of Engagement in Two Urban Schools
Steve Cardwell is the Vancouver School District's superintendent and CEO. He has served on many boards and committees since beginning as a high school teacher in 1980.
Steve has recently completed a Doctorate in Educational Leadership in Graduate Studies in Education, with a focus on student engagement in urban secondary schools.
Steve has been involved in leadership roles in the educational community since the beginning of his career. He is currently completing his second term as President of the BC School Superintendents' Association (BCSSA) and is also a director on the Science World Board.
Steve is known for his valuing of ethical leadership and responsibility. His areas of interest include student engagement in school and the need to listen to the voices of students in our system.
