Mathematics Education PhD

With a PhD degree in Mathematics, I joined this program in 2016. I received my PhD in Mathematics in 2013 which then I moved to Canada and decided to do my second PhD under the supervision of Dr. Rina Zazkis. Before moving to Canada, I taught Mathematics in high schools and university environments in Iran for about 12 years. Having majored as a student and then as a teacher, I’ve come to realize that along with learning and doing Mathematics, teaching Math was also my passion. My research interest includes how students make sense of logical statements and what kind of issues they may experience in dealing with logical situations. I am also interested to see how logical form would have to work with inferences in everyday reasoning.
