Thesis: Dealing With Abstraction: Reducing Abstraction in Teaching (RAiT)

Having worked as a High School mathematics teacher for 12 years in Nepal and 3 years in the US, I began my PhD program in September 2008. I completed my Master degree in mathematics (MA) from Tribhuvan University, Nepal and an MEd from Endicott College, MA, USA. My research interests lie in the areas of teaching and learning mathematics in secondary and post-secondary levels. I am particularly interested in looking at mathematics teaching and learning issues through the lens of complexity science. Other areas of interest include Number Theory, Belief System and Vedic Mathematics.
