I have another PhD in Applied Mathematics from Tomsk State University (Russia) and more than 15 years of research experience in the field. I am also President of the Canadian National Monitoring Committee of the International Society for Engineering Education (IGIP).

I knew about the program from my colleague from the UK.

Please tell us why you chose the Faculty of Education at SFU for your studies.
My interest in joining the Faculty of Education was based on an opportunity to utilize my background in Applied Mathematics and experience in Engineering Education.

Who is a faculty member you have enjoyed working with and why?
My supervisor, Prof. Peter Liljedahl. He is very supportive and understanding.

What do you miss most about your graduate studies in the Faculty of Education?
Communication (with my supervisor and other students).

What would you say to prospective students who are considering graduate school in the Faculty of Education?
I would wish them to find their own research fields which would inspire and motivate them and would make their study interesting and enjoyable.
