Program/Degree: Mathematics Education PhD
I am from Singapore. I have taught Mathematics to both primary and secondary students for more than ten years and also have had many opportunities to work with teachers in the designing of learning experiences for their students as part of teacher professional development. My research interests include the role of language in mathematics education and teacher education.
Please tell us how you first discovered your program.
I was sourcing for a PhD program which is dedicated to Mathematics Education as most PhD programs in Education are not specialized in this area.
Who is a faculty member you have enjoyed working with and why?
Dr. Natalia Gajdamaschko for inspiring me about her passion in her interests and beliefs. I have learnt a lot from her in both the courses I took with her, as well as the RA work under her charge.
What inspires you to learn and continue your education?
My goal to help teachers becoming more proficient in their practice.
