Education faculty members Danièle Moore and Cécile Sabatier were recent guests at "Le Café de l'Intégration," a grassroot association aimed to help new African francophone immigrants to BC make connections in the larger community. On January 7th, they presented their research in French Immersion and francophone classrooms (CSF). The research project was designed to help newly arrived immigrant parents understand the culture of education in BC French language programs. Among a number of attendees, the Ministry of Canadian Immigration and Citizenship and CBC Radio-Canada were present at this event. CBC Radio-Canada aired an 8 minute news item highlighting the work of "le Repère" and its partnership with the SFU researchers on January 8th.
