Failure is part of the learning process

"As an educator and a therapist, I've seen amazing transformations when people embrace their failures as valuable learning." - Sharalyn Jordan, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education, Simon Fraser University.

Jordan spoke to Linda White of 24 Hours Newspaper, Toronto, about the importance of facing failures with compassion and courage. She explains that compassion protects us from spiraling into deep feelings of negativity while working on our failures, while courage helps us clarify our mistakes so we can take the next steps.

She goes on to suggest other actions young people can take when faced with failures, specifically in school.
