TEDxVancouver speaker to engage with PDP's IPTEM

February 04, 2016

Art Opens Windows to the Space Between Ourselves is the title of the TEDx talk Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas, a Haida Gwaii award-winning visual contemporary artist, author and professional speaker, delivered at Rogers Arena on November 14, 2015.  As the title suggests, Yahgulanaas poetically demonstrates how he uses art to communicate a world view that, while particular to Haida Gwaii, is relevant to a wide contemporary and global audience and, in the process explores themes of identity, environmentalism and the human condition. His art and talk “reminds us that art opens all of us to the connections of life, the meaning of ourselves and the space between each other.”

Yahgulanaas will be visiting the Professional Development Program's Indigenous Perspectives Teacher Education Module (IPTEM) in February, 2016.
