SFU Faculty of Education Professor Cheryl Amundsen and Director of the Institute for the Study of Teaching and Learning in the Disciplines and Lynn McAlpine, Professor of Higher Education Development at the University of Oxford and Professor Emerita at McGill University, have launched their book, Post-PhD Career Trajectories: Intentions, Decision-Making and Life Aspirations.

This premise of this work "argues that post-PhD career planning should ideally begin at the same time as the PhD itself" (2016, Palgrave Macmillan). In the past 10 years, Amundsen and McAlpine researched and collected stories from 50 individuals and looked at how they pursued their graduate studies, and ultimately their careers post-grad.

Resources are included to guide those who are planning and contemplating their career paths.
