Fine and Performing Arts Module
In this module, student teachers are able to extend their background in the arts to schooling contexts. This is done through an arts-based curriculum and arts-integration.
Secondary student teachers with majors/minors in music, art, theatre/drama and/or dance are placed in this module. If space permits, secondary student teachers who have been accepted to teach in other disciplines and have a keen interest in fine and performing arts may be placed in this module.
Elementary student teachers in FPA will focus on ways to infuse the arts as a cross-curricular approach to teaching and learning.
This community-based module provides the opportunity for students to complete the on-campus portion of their program at David Brankin Elementary School, the home of SD36’s District Intensive Fine Arts Program. School experiences and practica will take place throughout the Lower Mainland.
