Areas of interest
Deena Dinat’s (he/him/his) research and teaching focuses on contemporary South African, African, and world literatures. He is particularly interested in notions of subjection, power, and capitalism in postcolonial societies. His PhD research investigated the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission and its ongoing influence on the idealized national citizen in the post-apartheid era. Deena has also published work on “eco-xenophobia” in Central America and the writing of Imraan Coovadia.
