SFU professor Woo Soo Kim has been selected as a Brain Pool Fellow by the National Research Foundation (NRF) of Korea.

Kim, an expert in 3D printed electronics, is a professor in the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering and runs SFU’s Additive Manufacturing Laboratory. As a part of the fellowship, he recently travelled to Seoul, South Korea and spent six months collaborating with researchers at Seoul National University to advance fabrication of thin film transistors using 3D printing technology.

“The Brain Pool is a prestigious program designed to attract renowned scientists and engineers to collaborate with Korean counterparts for initiating long-term collaborative innovation,” says Kim. “To be selected as a fellow is a great honour.”

Each year the NRF invites applications from international scientists across multiple disciplines to conduct research in Korea and help accelerate global research and development.
