Graduate Academic Programs
The spirit of community
Intellectual and academic freedom, joined with an open and inclusive community, are the foundations of this university. We are a university where risks can be taken and bold initiatives embraced; where our spirit challenges the impossible.
Since Maclean's Magazine started ranking Canada’s top comprehensive universities in the 1990s – those with a significant amount of research and a wide range of graduate and undergraduate programs – SFU has been among the top. In fact, between 2008-2012, SFU was No. 1 in Maclean's rankings of Canada’s comprehensive universities. Our faculty is internationally known for both its strong theoretical research groups, and for its ability to develop applications that can be applied in several existing and emerging fields.
