Katie Nordgren and Alexa Dredge, students in the Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, attracted media attention in 2013 with their project Harassment on TransLink. Created for their third year course "Gender, Place & Culture: Feminist Interventions in Urban Studies", the website is for public-transit users to share stories of harassment from across Metro Vancouver. Renewed media attention came about this week after an open forum at UBC on "Sexual Assault, Safety and Public Transit" which aimed to "share and generate ideas to increase safety on public transit".
