School of Public Policy Team Wins National Policy Case Competition
After a week of gruelling preparation and a long day of intense competition the policy team from the School of Public Policy defeated over 13 of the best teams in the country to win the prestigious National Policy Case Competition in Halifax.
The SFU team of students Julie Compton, Angela Pati, Hannah Rabinovitch, and Vanessa Leblanc were coached by School Director Doug McArthur, and came in first out of a subset of six teams, leading to the final against the team from University of Toronto. With only one hour to prepare on a challenging case focussing on threatened protests at the upcoming Pan Am games in Toronto, the SFU team was victorious.
