2014 FASS Staff Achievement Award Winners

Simon Fraser University’s annual Staff Achievement Awards honour staffers’ exceptional personal and work-related accomplishments.

Maureen Curtin, Winner of the 2014 Staff Achievement Award for Athletics

Maureen, in the Department of English, is well known on campus for her athletic prowess in the New York, Chicago and Boston Marathons—three of the top six marathons worldwide.

Jeanne Persoon, Winner of the 2014 Staff Achievement Award for Work Performance

Jeanne is secretary to the chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology where for the past 13 years she has smoothed the way for several chairs and acting chairs, as well as directors of the Latin American Studies and Labour Studies programs.

Anita Turner, Winner of the 2014 Staff Achievement Award for Lifetime Achievement

A graduate program assistant in the Department of Psychology for the past 35 years, Anita often puts in countless extra hours to ensure admissions, scholarship applications, defenses and annual reviews are completed by deadline.
