SFU honours FASS Connections Mentorship Program
For the fifth year, SFU recognized “champions” for their outstanding contributions to the health and well-being of the University as part of SFU’sHealthy Campus Community initiative. On Feb. 1, President Andrew Petter joined the Health Promotion team, a unit within Health and Counselling Services, and the University community to honour the 2016 Champion for a Healthy Campus Community.
In a healthy campus community, people, processes and spaces contribute to well-being and success for all. This year, the award honours the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences’ (FASS) Connections Mentorship Program for helping to create a campus that positively influences students’ health and well-being.
The program pairs upper-year FASS student volunteers with first-year students. The senior students act as mentors and advise incoming students about University resources and opportunities.
