OSCARS Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science Academy Grants Program | Oscars.org | Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences

The Academy currently provides funding in three areas. Note: 2021 opportunities on hold due to COVID-19

FilmWatch: supports curated screening programs at North America-based film festivals and film-related organizations. Focuses on  culturally diverse viewing experiences, motion pictures as art forms, promote underrepresented artists, and cultivate new audiences.

FilmCraft: supports educational programs that empower future filmmakers from nontraditional backgrounds. Focuses on appreciation of film as both a vocation and an art form, and direct, hands-on opportunities to develop filmmaking skills.

Academy Film Scholars: supports previously published individuals who are pursuing new works of film scholarship. Projects must address cultural, educational, historical, theoretical or scientific aspects of theatrical motion pictures. Two $25,000 grants are awarded each year.
