Dr. Jon Driver is a professor of Archaeology at Simon Fraser University whose research interests focus around zooarchaeology, cultural ecology, Paleo-Indian adaptation, southwestern United States, and northeast British Columbia. Driver obtained his MA from Cambridge, followed by a PhD from the University of Calgary and is currently taking a step back from teaching to allow him to work on various research.
His previous fieldwork included a variety of excavations, including his recent work at Charlie Lake Cave studying the early fauna and its environment spanning from the early post-glacial to Holocene faunas. This is one of many projects that that Dr. Driver has taken on along side working with a current grad student on a detailed analysis of micro fauna. Dr. Driver is also the current president of th Western Canadian Universities Marine Sciences Society that operates the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre.
