Global Climate Strike
Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students in the Faculty of Environment,
I will be taking time off work to attend the Global Climate Strike this Friday afternoon. The Faculty of Environment stands in solidarity with all those who want to support a more sustainable pathway as our climate continues to change.
For those who choose to join me, I call your attention to information here about the Global Climate strike on Friday September 27th.
Visit the SFU Sustainability website to learn more about the urgency of the climate crisis, what SFU is currently doing to address climate change, and why people are striking for the climate. This site is also where you can find links to events in Vancouver, Surrey, and New Westminster and information on how you can join other SFU community members on the day in these locations.
To read the official statement from President Petter on SFU faculty, staff, and student participation in the strike visit this link.
To watch 16 year old Greta Thunberg's full speech to world leaders at the UN Climate Action Summit visit this link.
I hope you will continue to be committed to climate change action after this march is over, and I will be looking for ways to keep the conversation and educational possibilities growing to address climate change with you.
Respectfully,
Naomi Krogman
