Biography

As Manager, Budget and Financial Analysis, Evelyn is responsible for the preparation and administration of financial forecasts and operating budgets for the Faculty, as well as revenue/costing analysis and transactional support for research and special purpose funds. She acts as a resource for faculty researchers and grant holders by providing information on University policy and procedures, liaising with internal SFU departments and external funding parties, coordinating budget submissions, preparing cost projections and making fund allocation recommendations. She also supports Senior Management planning and decision-making by providing customized financial reports and reconciliations.

Evelyn has over 8 years of experience in financial accounting, reporting and analysis including preparation of financial statements, reconciliation and analysis of operating and special purpose revenue and expenditures, monitoring budgets and reporting on capital projects, and developing monthly and annual forecasts. She has worked in both private and public sector. More recently, she worked at Kwantlen Polytechnic University where she was responsible for institutional financial and capital reporting to the Ministry of Advanced Education. Prior to starting her career in accounting, Evelyn also held positions as a Research Assistant, Admissions Coordinator/Student Advisor and Graduate Coordinator in various post-secondary institutions.

Evelyn has a Bachelor of Science, Honours from the University of Toronto, with a double major in Biology and Psychology. She is also a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA) with the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPA-BC).
