Biography

Luciana joined the Faculty of Health Sciences in July 2013 as the Finance and Budget Coordinator. In addition to financial analysis and reporting, she is responsible for preparing and administering the Faculty’s annual operating budget, revenue and specific purpose budgets. Luciana advises on the financial implications of new ventures, administrative budget policies, procedures, and practices. She serves as a resource for faculty researchers and grant holders by providing information and consultation regarding University policies and procedures, coordinating budget submissions, preparing cost projections and making fund allocation recommendations.

Luciana has many years of experience in financial accounting and analysis including conducting operating revenue reconciliation and expenditures analysis, developing yearly financial forecast and monitoring budgets for specific purpose funds. She has considerable knowledge of accounting and internal audit principles, methods and procedures through her work experience in the private and public sector. More recently, she held a position with the provincial government where she was responsible for analyzing and administering the annual funds dispensed by the Ministry of Health to all the health authorities and specialized provincial agencies in BC.  

Luciana has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a concentration in finance and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, Canada (CPA-BC).
