Rehana Bacchus

Biography

As the Director, Education Programs, Rehana provides strategic leadership on the delivery of the undergraduate and graduate programs as well as the communications portfolio in Health Sciences. Rehana's role maximizes the educational impact of the Faculty's programs through researching, designing, and developing programs and initiatives, with the overall objective of engaging students and alumni.

Rehana has 15 years of experience in student services and educational programming in both the private and public sector. Rehana joined the Faculty in 2014 as the Manager, Graduate Programs and was later promoted to Director, Education Programs. Prior to joining SFU, Rehana worked in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia, first as a program assistant and then as a program manager. And previous to UBC, Rehana worked with the Commonwealth of Learning, providing administrative support to programs aimed at helping developing nations improve access to quality education and training.

Rehana has a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Sociology, both from SFU. She has conducted policy research as well as written on organizational culture, employment equity, and gender issues.
