FINS Community Stakeholder Meeting July 6th


The Community Stakeholder meeting was live streamed to ensure access for employees of all campuses. Our first implemementations, in partnership with the Faculty of Relations and Lifelong Learning were announced. Following with a demonstrated of the new Smart View Tool Analytics (STAR) and the Online Automated Approval Workflow pilot.

March 9th Stakeholder Kick Off Meeting: General


After more than a year we have completed Phase 1 of the Finance Program. We want to thank everyone for your patience, hard work and collaboration.

We are now moving onto Phase 2 where we will leverage the ground work laid in Phase 1 with the FINS Upgrade to 9.2 and the implementation of the new chart of accounts. In Phase 2 our goal is to improve service to the community through clearer, simplified financial processes and automated workflow for many existing manual processes.  

The attached documentation is the March 9th stakeholder meeting presentation in which we have shared highlight of the project and what we will be focusing on until August 2017.  

Finance Program Automated Workflow Information Sheet: General


Online Automated Workflow Approvals streamline the manual approval process of requisitions, travel and expenses and account payable invoices, eliminating the need for printed and signed documents. This information sheet will elaborate on the benefits of workflow and what this means for SFU.
