What is the FSU?
The French Student Union (FSU) at Simon Fraser University (SFU) is dedicated to the celebration and promotion of French language and French culture around campus. The FSU brings French out of the classroom and into the daily lives and activities of students.
The FSU's Mandate
To celebrate and promote awareness of the French language and diverse francophone cultures around the world and to advocate for students' interests in the French Department at SFU.
Who is included in the FSU?
- any SFU student enrolled in a French course
- any Francophone/Francophile students wishing to join

- French conversation groups
- beverage and cheese socials
- movie screenings
- skating nights
- French concerts (e.g. Les Cowboys Fringants)
- picnics in Stanley Park
- year-end dinner cruise
Graduate Student Society
The Graduate Student Society at SFU serves and advocates on behalf of its over 4,500 members, representing almost one-fifth of SFU students. Since forming in July 2007, our members have directed and expanded the Society to promote the academic, social, and professional interests of graduate students at SFU.
