FUN FACTS The Inuit used to be known as "Eskimos," which means "eaters of raw flesh," but now "Inuit" means "the real people." "Qujannamiik" is pronounced as "Khoo-yanna-meek," which means "Thank you" in Nunavut. Many small isolated communities of Canadian Arctic now have fast food restaurants such as Pizza Hut and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
