The Faculty of Applied Sciences will be holding an asynchronous heat. Video presentation will be judged online, and a live virtual event will be held to announce the winners and allow discussion between judges and presenters.

The wildcard competition is open to graduate students who can't attend their faculty heat or whose faculty did not have a heat. Participants are only allowed to compete once in either their faculty heat or the wildcard competition.
Submit your video for the Wildcard Heat
The winner and runner up from each heat will proceed to the university wide final to compete for the top prize. A People's Choice winner will also be selected by the audience at the final.
We'll fly SFU's winner to the 3MT Western Regional Competition.
Organized by the Western Canadian Deans of Graduate Studies (WCDGS), up to 17 graduate students from Western Canadian Deans' Agreement participating universities are eligible to participate. The top three competitors at the Western Regional 3MT Competition will go on to compete at the National Canadian Competition.

Please note that non-thesis students are not able to compete in the Western Regional. The top SFU thesis-based student finalist will proceed to the Western Regionals.
Sponsored by the Canadian Association for Graduate Studies (CAGS), three graduate students will move forward from the Western Regional competition to the nationals.
