Sustainable Energy Engineering master's student in the Faculty of Applied Sciences

I've completed my master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology. I've also worked in the automotive industry for three years. I'm passionate about clean and sustainable transportation and vehicle technologies. As a PhD student in the VESST research lab, I'm working with Westport Fuel Systems and the University of Alberta on the NG-HPDI engine combustion modeling for utilization in the hybrid-electric class-8 truck.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO SFU?

The Sustainable Energy Engineering program at SFU provides me with a unique research opportunity focusing on clean transportation through an industrially sponsored project. I also enjoy living in British Columbia as a new experience in my life.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?

My research focuses on alternative fuels and engine efficiency improvement in commercial vehicles to reduce CO2 and have a better urban air quality.

WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT SFU?

I really enjoy the supportive and friendly environment community at SFU. Also, I'm glad that the projects are in great collaboration with industrial partners.
