I am from Poughkeepsie, New York located in the Mid-Hudson Valley. I recently received an undergraduate degree in Geology from the State University of New York at Oneonta. My experiences at Oneonta sparked my interested in geomorphology related studies and inspired me to continue my education. In my free time I enjoy hiking, skiing, camping, etc.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO SFU?

After discovering the River Dynamics Lab (RDL) website and speaking with Dr. Venditti about the projects he had involving the Fraser River I had a gut feeling SFU would be a good fit for me. I also had the opportunity to chat with one of Dr. Venditti's post-doctoral students (Ryan Bradley) which helped further cement my decision.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR RESEARCH.

Very generally, my research involves updating the sediment budget for the lower Fraser River. I will be looking at the distribution of sediment throughout the sand-bedded portion of the lower Fraser and how it has changed through time.

WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR RESEARCH AT SFU?

I have enjoyed participating in the River Dynamics research group. Learning about the members research, guest speakers research, and being able to ask for advice or help from the members has made my (virtual) experience more enriching.

HAVE YOU BEEN THE RECIPIENT OF ANY MAJOR OR DONOR-FUNDED AWARDS? IF SO, PLEASE TELL US WHICH ONES AND HOW THE AWARDS HAVE IMPACTED YOUR STUDIES AND/OR RESEARCH.
