Laurence is from Montreal, where she completed a BA in French Literature. She moved to Vancouver in 2013 to work on her MA thesis at SFU, which was stuying the communicational exchange in Nelly Arcan's autofictions. Then, she realized the definition of an autofiction, a literacy genre between autobiography and fiction, was far from being precise and unanimous. She's now a PhD candidate at SFU, recontextualizing the definition of autofiction with postmodernism and performance theories. She's also currently working as a French instructor at Kwantlen and Capilano University.
