In his graduate research, Steve is describing ways of knowing and predicting wildfires, and is developing predictive models of daily fire occurrence, daily fire load, and daily resource (aircraft) requirements for real time application if wildfire management. Steve has provided fire intelligence and forecasting during several recent severe fire seasons in BC, and as program chair, developed the theme Building Resilience for the Wildland Fire Canada 2016 Conference in Kelowna and is currently serving on a National Research Council Technical Committee to develop a Wildland Urban Interface Guideline for Canada.
