Congratulations to SFU engineering science PhD student Careesa Liu for receiving the Wendy McDonald Diversity Award!
Careesa Liu won the award in the women to watch category. This award recognizes women under the age of 35 who have made a difference in their organization, field, or industry and exhibit undeniable promise.
Careesa Liu, a biomedical engineer, is among “women to watch” for her groundbreaking research to advance medical technologies for improving disease diagnostics and therapeutics, as well as her current research on brain function. She is co-founder of the Surrey Collaborative Outreach and Research Experience, which trains high-school and post-secondary students in medical technologies.
