Call for Nominations — 2019 Senior Leadership Award
In celebration of the United Nations International Year of the Volunteer (2001), the SFU Gerontology Research Centre established a Senior Leadership Award to recognize the contribution that British Columbia seniors make to their community and to the academic field of gerontology.
NOMINATION PROCEDURE: You are invited to submit a letter nominating a senior in your family, community, or organization who has provided exemplary voluntary service to his/her age peers or towards educating the broader community about individual or population aging and amelioration of harmful stereotypes or ageist behaviours. The award will be presented at the annual Ellen Gee Memorial Lecture which will take place November 15 at SFU’s Harbour Centre campus.
LETTER OF NOMINATION should include:
*Name and contact information for the nominee.
*A summary of their contributions.
*Why you think this person should receive this award at this time.
*Any supporting letters and/or additional documents you wish to include.

Seniors eligible for nomination must presently live in British Columbia.
